Welcome!

City of Refuge Columbus is a vision statement within a name — this is what we hope and pray to see Columbus become. We want Columbus to be known as a city of refuge — a place where justice, mercy, and thriving resound. Our church community is just a small outpost of the kingdom of God at work in Columbus, so we aim to be a microcosm of the city of refuge.

Guiding Principles

We have some guiding principles that may help you get a feel of what we're all about:

Jesus’ Great Commission and Greatest Commandment are two sides of the same coin.
Discipleship is costly and requires life-to-life commitment and intention.
The church is Jesus’ hands and feet for worship, mercy, and justice.
The church is where Jesus’ upside-down kingdom finds its expression in the world.
The Christian life is patterned after Jesus' special care for the vulnerable and oppressed.
The global and universal body of Christ finds expression in our church.
The local church is a household with rights, privileges, responsibilities, and obligations.
Trust is earned through godly transparency.
Healing and wholeness are integrally connected to our discipleship.

Gathering & Worship

We meet on Zoom every Sunday, and for the 1st Sunday of the month, we have an in person option as well. We meet in person in the Northland area of Columbus in one of our homes.

Our Gathering & Worship services incorporate responsive Scripture readings, prayers from around the world, contemplative reflection, singing together, a children's message, hearing the Word, and fellowship. You can click below to see a sample worship folder.
